A plan for staying well, not just a visit when you are sick

Many of the conditions we treat start quietly. Blood pressure creeps up, cholesterol drifts, blood sugar rises - often years before you feel anything. Preventive care is how you catch those changes while they are still easy to manage.

At Palm Wellness Center, preventive care means more than a quick checkup. Your provider reviews your history and risk factors, checks your numbers, orders the screenings that make sense for your age and health, and explains the results in language you can actually use. You leave with a plan, not a pamphlet.

Care that waits for symptoms

Reactive

You wait for something to hurt or feel wrong, then treat it.

Preventive care at Palm Wellness

Proactive

You track your risks and numbers over time, so small changes get caught early.

What's Included

What preventive care includes

Every visit is built around your age, history, and risk factors - not a generic checklist.

  • Annual wellness exam & physical

A complete review of your health and history, not only the reason you came in.

  • Screenings & risk review

Age-appropriate screenings and a clear look at the risk factors that matter for you.

  • Blood pressure & heart health

Regular readings and trend tracking that help protect your heart and blood vessels.

  • Cholesterol & metabolic risk

Lipid and metabolic results reviewed with you, with a plan for what to do next.

  • Blood sugar & diabetes risk

Early detection of blood sugar changes, plus nutrition and lifestyle guidance that fits your routine.

  • Hormone testing & review

Lab testing for men and women, with results explained and next steps discussed.

  • Women's & men's health

Routine care, contraception counseling, and concerns specific to your stage of life.

  • Healthy-lifestyle counseling

Practical support for nutrition, activity, sleep, and quitting smoking when you are ready.

Your Visit

What happens at a preventive visit

You get time to ask questions and understand your own health - not a rushed form and a handshake.

  1. 01

    We review your history

Your medical and family history, current medications, lifestyle, and any concern you want to cover.

  2. 02

    We check your numbers

Blood pressure, weight, heart and lung exam, and the vitals that show how you are trending.

  3. 03

    We order and explain screenings

Lab work or screenings based on your age and risk, with results explained in plain language.

  4. 04

    We build your plan

Clear next steps: what to monitor, what to change, and when to come back.

Screenings & Labs

Know your numbers, understand your results

Preventive care only works if you understand what your results mean. We coordinate your lab work, walk you through each value, and connect it to a plan you can follow - in person or by telemedicine.

  • Wellness, hormonal, and metabolic panels
  • Results reviewed with you during your visit
  • In-house lab work with transparent pricing
  • Referrals for screenings we do not perform in-house

Preventive lab panels

  • Annual Preventive Assessment with Basic Panel $145
  • Complete Hormonal Profile $189
  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel $250

Additional testing may be recommended based on your age and risk factors. Your provider will explain what is needed and why before anything is ordered.

Who It's For

Who benefits most from preventive care

You do not need to feel sick to have a reason to come in.

  • You have not had a wellness visit in a while
  • Your family has a history of heart disease, diabetes, or cancer
  • You are managing weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, or blood sugar
  • You want your numbers explained in plain language
  • You are starting or adjusting a medication
  • You want one provider who knows your history year after year

Preventive care is not about finding something wrong. It is about knowing where you stand, so you can make decisions with your provider instead of guessing.

Which Visit Do You Need?

Preventive care, an annual physical, or a sick visit?

They can overlap, but they are not the same. Knowing which one you need saves you time and money.

  • Preventive care

Ongoing screenings, risk monitoring, and guidance that keep you well over time. This is the widest of the three.

  • Annual physical exam

A once-a-year checkup of your vitals, history, and basic health needs - one visit within a preventive plan.

  • Sick or walk-in visit

Care for a problem you already have: a cold, a sprain, or a sudden symptom that needs attention today.

Frequently asked questions

Still have questions? Call us at (813) 443-5370 and our team will walk you through coverage, scheduling, and what to expect on your first visit.

What is preventive care?

It is medical care focused on staying well: annual wellness visits, screenings, lab testing, risk monitoring, and guidance to prevent problems or catch them early.

Do I need to be sick to book a preventive visit?

No. Preventive visits exist for the opposite reason - to keep you well and to catch changes before they turn into symptoms.

How is this different from an annual physical?

An annual physical is one visit within a broader preventive plan. Preventive care also includes screenings, lab review, hormone testing, risk monitoring, and follow-up over time.

How often should I have a preventive visit?

Most adults benefit from one wellness visit a year. Your provider may recommend a different cadence based on your age, risk factors, and any condition you are managing.

Which screenings do you offer?

Wellness, hormonal, and metabolic lab panels are done in-house. When a screening such as a mammogram, colonoscopy, or skin check is recommended, we explain why and help you get it scheduled.

How much do lab panels cost?

The Annual Preventive Assessment with Basic Panel is $145, the Complete Hormonal Profile is $189, and the Comprehensive Metabolic Panel is $250. Your provider will only order what is clinically useful at your visit.

Do you accept insurance and Medicare?

We accept most major insurance plans, including Medicare. Call (813) 443-5370 to verify your specific coverage before your visit.

Can I do a preventive follow-up by telemedicine?

Yes - lab reviews, medication adjustments, and follow-ups can be handled by telemedicine throughout Florida. Some exams require an in-person visit; your provider will let you know.

Do I need a membership?

No. You can pay per visit, or join the Monthly Medical Membership ($99 to start, then $39/month) for extended visits and direct provider messaging.
